 How to Add or Install an eSIM on OnePlus?

You can install an eSIM on your OnePlus device through two primary methods: scanning a QR code or manually entering the activation details. The steps for each method are detailed below, allowing you to select the option that suits you best. Let’s dive in!

To add an eSIM on OnePlus with a QR code:

  • Go to Settings > Select Mobile network > Tap on eSIM > Toggle on the eSIM switch > Then go to Add eSIM > Tap Next > Scan QR Code > Tap Download, and it will enable the installation process (Don’t close this window, or the installation may fail) > Finally, continue with the activation of your eSIM once you have reached your destination.

To install an eSIM on OnePlus using manual codes:

  • Go to Settings > Select Mobile Network > Tap on eSIM > Toggle on the eSIM switch > Then go to Add eSIM > 
  • Tap Next > Tap on Need help? > Select Enter it Manually > Copy and paste the full activation code for Android (including LPA and the colon ':') that was sent to your email. This is not a link, but a code that must be entered in the designated space > Select Continue > Tap Download, and it will enable the installation process. Note: Do NOT close this window else the installation may fail > Finally, continue with the activation of your eSIM once you have reached your destination.

 How to Activate an eSIM on OnePlus?

Activating your Mossroam eSIM is straightforward, but it’s crucial to wait until you arrive at your destination to complete the process, preventing any loss of plan days. If you activated it prematurely, simply disable both the eSIM and data roaming until you reach your destination.

Below, we’ll guide you through the activation process step-by-step to make sure everything goes smoothly.

  • Go to Settings > Select Mobile network > Disable your Personal SIM/eSIM to avoid additional charges from your carrier > Make sure the eSIM is activated by tapping on the eSIM option and turning on the button next to it > Tap the three dots next to the Data eSIM of the installed Mossroam eSIM and select "Enable" to ensure proper activation > Then, go back to Mobile network and select your Mossroam eSIM > Turn on the Enable switch > Toggle the Data roaming switch.

  Things to Keep in Mind:

  • eSIM support may vary based on your carrier and the country where the device was manufactured.  
  • Certain OnePlus models, such as the OnePlus 11, support Dual SIM (physical + eSIM), enabling two lines, though only one can handle mobile data at a time.  
  • You can manage the eSIM profile—delete, modify, enable, or disable—directly from the settings menu.  
  • The manual code is not a hyperlink; copy and paste it precisely into the designated field without spaces for successful activation.

Go to Settings > Select Mobile Network > Choose your Mossroam eSIM > Tap on Operator > Toggle on the Auto-Select switch > Tap on Off to confirm > Wait for the available networks to load, select each carrier that appears on your screen, and choose the one with the best signal and connection > Try browsing again.
