How to Transfer a Mossroam eSIM to Another Phone?
Moving your eSIM to a new phone is a straightforward process with most providers, whether you’re upgrading, temporarily switching devices, or changing phones for any other reason. However, please note that Mossroam eSIMs cannot be transferred to another device.
To transfer an eSIM from other providers, you’ll need to remove it from your current phone, restart the device, and then install it on the new one. After that, activate the eSIM, and you’re all set. Things to Keep in Mind
Before attempting to transfer an eSIM to a new phone, be aware that Mossroam does not support eSIM transfers, so the steps below do not apply to Mossroam eSIMs. If you’re using an eSIM from a different provider, consider these essential points for a seamless transfer:
- Ensure the new phone supports eSIM and is unlocked from carrier restrictions. Compatibility can vary by region; for example, many phones from mainland China do not support eSIM.
- Use a reliable and stable Wi-Fi connection during the transfer to prevent installation issues.
- Complete the transfer process fully, as interrupting it may lead to errors or connectivity problems.
- If you encounter installation issues on your new iOS or Android device, try an alternative method (e.g., QR code or manual entry).
Steps to Transfer an eSIM to Another Device
1. Remove the eSIM from Your Current Phone:
The process for deleting an eSIM is generally consistent across devices, though slight variations may exist depending on the model. Follow the provided steps to begin.
To delete an eSIM on your iPhone:
Go to Settings → Mobile Data or Cellular → Select the eSIM to delete → Scroll to the bottom → Tap on Delete eSIM.
To delete an eSIM on your Android:
Go to Settings → Connections → SIM Manager → Choose the eSIM you want to delete → Then tap on Remove.
2. Restart Your Phone:
Rebooting your phone ensures the eSIM is completely removed and ready for transfer. Occasionally, the eSIM may still appear in the device’s list after deletion, but this is normal. As long as it was properly removed, the transfer should proceed without issues.
3. Install and Activate the eSIM on Your New Phone:
The final step is to install the eSIM on your new device. You can do this by scanning a QR code or manually entering the activation details. Here’s how to successfully transfer and activate your eSIM on the new phone.
To transfer the eSIM to an iPhone:
Go to Settings → Cellular or Mobile Data → Add eSIM → Use QR Code → Scan the QR code or Enter Details Manually → Next → Continue with Activation (enable Data roaming to start using it on your new device).
To transfer the eSIM to an Android:
Go to Settings → Tap on Connections → Select SIM Manager → Add eSIM → Scan QR Code or Enter activation code → Copy and paste the complete code (including LPA and colons) → Add → Continue with Activation (enable Data roaming to start using it on your new device).
